Stupid is as stupid does.....

This is Cowboy, yet another love of my life! He is 8 years old, 16.2 hands high, approx. 1200-1300 lbs. and thinks he is a big black dog. He is a people horse and loves interacting with anyone and everyone! He is constantly licking you, nudging you, following you, grabbing you, and hugs you to his chest until you think he might crush you. Every moment spent with Cowboy is a moment spent with God (or in last Tuesday's case, trying to meet God!)
Against the docs orders, I decided to go riding a week after my surgery. It was such a beautiful day and I just couldn't help but saddle up and enjoy. Cowboy seemed to be doing just fine until I decided to give him his rein and let him go on a dead run in the field East of my place. Long story short, he got a little over zealous, threw me over his head, and ran over me stepping on my leg. Thanks to a farmer driving by who saw "the empty horse go running by", I managed to make it back to the house and get Cowboy put away. Once again, a lot can sure happen in a minute!

Duh!!!

I woke up this a.m. and remembered that my incentive to start a blog was to be able to share with friends and family how much I appreciate them!

I have survived a week since my last heart attack (and boy was it a doosie!) and want to thank everyone for being there for me. I feel so loved (even when you're all bitching at me about quitting smoking....yes, its in the works!). I don't know if I can ever express how much you all mean to me, but hope you know that you will forever be in my heart to hold.
Barb & Keith-Thank you for taking care of the farmstead and my critters! They now all have a second set of parents! And thank you for taking care of me and making sure I have everything I need (i.e.Wood pellets!). This year is going to be quite the journey with your horse!

My Favorite Son - Tyler-Kiddo, don't you worry about your Mom, I'll be here for awhile to nag your little butt every step of the way. You are a good son, and I am so proud of you. Thank you for being here for me.

Kathy, Steve & Kids!- Kath, don't know what I would have done without you with me in ER. I was really scared and you being there helped a lot. Also, thanks for bringing me your clothes, although when I pulled that foo foo bra out of the bag, I nearly had another heart attack! :-) You really wore that thing? Steve-Sorry about the gravel road, hope your wife didn't kick up too many rocks and damage your new car!:-( But thanks for being such a trooper about it. Randi, Brett, Cassie, and Jordan-just thanks for being so sweet and helpful and coming to see me!

Kara-Know how much I love you and that if God decides to take me, we'll meet again in the afterlife (Well....it might be a little warm where you are...tee hee!). So stop stressing yourself out!

Mom & Honey Do- I love you bunches and am glad to hear the quitting smoking is going well for you! Mom, I didn't turn you into Kathy about your lecture! tee hee! So you should be safe for awhile. :-) (Just kidding Kath!) You guys need to come see me when we're all feeling better!

Marj, Aunt Pdiddy, Peggy, Mize & Co. and the prayer chain gang- Thank you for all your love and prayers as they are very powerful. I'm sorry to give you such a scare. Hope I can see you all soon!

Edith & Richard - Thanks for coming to see me as well. Richard, there is never a dull moment with you! Edith, you are a fine example of grace, peace, and love. :-)

Kirsten and Nick - Thanks for the comedy relief! Even tho I was pretty loopy, I remember laughing while you were there!

And last, but not least, my friend Patti-Thank you so much for coming to the hospital at 4:30 a.m. and sitting with me all day. That had to be quite a treat for you! You're my person...what can I say...God really blessed me with a friend like you.

There are so many people who sent me cards, flowers, plants....etc. My work, Operation Directors, co-workers, employees, friends, etc. Thank YOU!
So with that mouthful being said, I know I forgot quite a few people, but hope you know that every ounce of love has been felt on this end.

We'll Give This a Whirl!

Today is April 17, 2008....I'm sitting here at home on a cold, rainey day as the result of being on medical leave from work. Needless to say, I'm bored to tears and my mom and my sister Kathy suggested I start a blog.

So thanks guys! Now I'm at a loss for words! (Yes, there is a first for everything!)
