Welcome 2010!!!

What a way to bring in the new year! This winter is brutal! These are pics taken from the Christmas blizzard. Today, we are still getting more snow and have more winter advisories out.

I received word from my attorney that I finally won my disability case! I was stunned when he gave me news. He said I didn't sound that excited and I informed him that I'm not used to hearing the words "You Won"! So we shall see where this takes me. :-)

It had appeared that perhaps 2010 just might be my year to shine until I woke up last Sunday morning to frozen pipes. They ended up bursting in three different places so I went a day & a half with no water. The good news is that my insurance will cover the repairs. I was expecting the plumber tomorrow, but with the looks of this snow storm, I doubt he will be able to make it out. Until then, I have a temporary fix so I don't have to go without water. :-)

2009 in Retrospect....

Wow! I can't believe it has been so long since my last post. Sorry about that, it's hard to write when your heart just isn't in it. So much has happened this past year. I really wish I could say that it was good, but on the contrary, I think this has been the hardest year of my life. Just a brief recap of 2009:

• January - Still unemployed and filed for disability. Zippy Pinhead escaped death by heelers. Ozzie (now Katie, went to new home).


• February - Heartbreaking decision to put Dad's El Camino up for sale. Met Sparky (Tom), this was a bright spot in the year.


• March -Visited Sparky in Michigan.


• April - More kittens (the Tommy Boys) & more heart attacks (6 & 7). Denied for disability and any other assistance. Lived to see another b-day! Sold Dad's El Camino.


• May - Horses (Cowboy & Ki) got into barn & grain & had to have stomachs pumped! Sparky came to visit.


• June - My friend Barb gets to ride her horse again after Ki got some extensive training from Sparky!


• July - Barb & I rode in the Yutan Days parade! Disability denied again.


• August - More kittens born. The heartbreaking loss of my dog and best friend Lucy. Another visit from Sparky. Another visit to the hospital and disappointing news that I was not a candidate for open-heart surgery.


• September - Met the OPPD team and got a lesson in electricity!


• October - Norton (one of the August litter kittens & my favorite) fell in the horse tank & drown. Kinky Tom (one of the Tommy Boys) disappeared & never returned. Mom & Tyler's birthdays. Early snowstorm.


• November - Thought I was gender challenged with the kittens. Turns out that they are both BOYS after all! So they are now officially Timmy & Ed. Another visit from Sparky! :-) Thanksgiving visit with my sister Kara, her family and Thanksgiving day with all my family at my sister Kathy's house!


• December - Still waiting for disability as January starts the descent of my foreclosure. Snowed in for Christmas due to winter blizzard (was snowed in for 7 days). Hoping that 2010 will be my year to shine!
