The sky is falling!!!

No farm is complete without chickens! When I bought this place, I inherited three roosters and one hen (Yeah, I know, three men to one woman, she likes to rub it in!). Unfortunately, while I was in the hospital, one of my gold roosters took a nose-dive off the Talahatchie fence into the horse tank and drown. So now I just have Big Red, HoHen, and Goldie.
Big Red doesn't much know how to tell time. When I go out to feed the horses in the mornings, he is sleeping on the fence with the others. Once he realizes I'm in the barn, he seems to nudge the others awake and starts cocka-doodle-dooing in an attempt to be the "wake up call" of the day.
HoHen lays colored Easter eggs. And she lays them anywhere she sees fit. She just plops them out as she's walking along and doesn't even acknowledge that she has done so. So far I have picked up brown, yellow, green, teal, and pink eggs, none of which are edible. eeooo. :-(
